Although it is unknown who invented the first meatball, many people believe it originated in Persia, where leftover meat was used to make a dish called Kofta. It is thought that the meatball originated in Persia and spread throughout the Middle East to China. Some say Venetian traders introduced the meatball to Europe via trade routes, while others say the Ancient Romans invented a similar recipe and deserve full credit for the meatball's humble beginnings!

The history of cannoli reflects the diverse cultures and peoples who have inhabited Sicily over the centuries. Many people believe the cannoli originated in Piana Degli Albanesi, Sicily, but this traditional Italian dessert may have originated during the Emirate of Sicily, which was ruled by the Arabs. The story of how cannolis came to have two versions. During the Arabic occupation of the island, the first one takes place in an Arab prince's harem within his castle. The emir's many concubines worked hard to prepare delectable meals and desserts, including a cylinder-shaped pastry case filled with ricotta, almonds, and honey.
