Wallace is returning from his 4 years research trip in the Amazon, trying answer the question of where do species come from? he collected many smaples and species back to research. However, a fire broke out on his ship and it sank, along with his research. He made a vow that he won't sail again if he lives it rhough.

Alfred wallace met up with Drawin to discuss about their research and promise Darwin to share parts of his research and sample to him.

1854. Malay Archipelago

Despite his Vow, Wallas went to the Malay Acrhipelago where he done a lot of research. He saw how same species have different feature to the slightest of colour location and patterns on their wings. He also saw how 2 sets of island have completely different species and how whales have useless bones. He came up with the idea that God didn't create them because why would God give them useless feature and created the idea that continent splited explaining the different species. He also came up with evolution as he saw changes in those species and humans and he remebered about a book that talked about how human always come to death. Through this, he came up with the idea of "survival of the fitness" and that species evolve to compete with other and the best for its place wins and keep on reproducing. The idea of evolution also came to his mind as he saw similarities in wings and hands causing him to think they come from one species that change to become current species and sometimes one group of specie change differently in their group causing the making of 2 different species or more. He would write to darwin his writing

Darwin got his letters and read both of their outloud as to share the credit for the concept of evolution. They both would write book about it with Wallace writing a book about evolution titled "Darwinism"
