His family has learnt that his grandmother has pancreatic cancer, and it came to their realization that the burial costs a lot of money, so he built his grandma's coffin himself. The child’s life wasn’t an easy deal at all. Given that his grandmother has cancer, his father faced bigger financial problems for everything they were facing, his mother was facing a huge dilemma in being a housewife in a house full of sick people, his older brother also added to the burdens of their family as he found a peer who kept on pressuring him and a forbidden love instead of employment and money, he also carried his sister who has Cerebral palsy to a fair on his back because he couldn't afford a wheelchair. But in return, the young boy didn’t give up. He continued trying to fill up the gaps in their problems. He also helped other people around their community, as they drew inspiration from such a kid like him. They thought the situation was already getting better as the issues were beginning to subside–until everything came crashing down when he was hit by a car and died. He was the one who was buried in the coffin that he made instead of his grandmother.

On the other hand, I think it’s a “bad film”. Not literally though, I just think that it lacks emotion or scenes that may put a big impact on the one who’s watching it. As a writer, I’ve observed that readers want a more angsty ending with stories or scenes that will be a highlight to the story. In some communities, there are people who have endless struggles. Everything their family is going through has one big hindrance, which is money. Either living with sickness or just dying, it will be a financial problem. Buying a coffin and the land for the grave cost a lot, which is true. When you’re poor, you have to carry these with the grief of losing your loved one. The donations after the funeral will just be a little help but it is a huge struggle. As for living with sickness, it also costs them a lot as a political issue to address this lack of medical support. Insurance agencies nowadays like PhilHealth should have taken action to help the medical needs. In the movie, it seemed like all of the burden when it comes to his grandmother and sister’s sickness are all theirs. No one even tried to help them afford a wheelchair, only Domeng–who is also an ordinary citizen like them. One more political issue tackled was the lack of spotlight and pedestrian lanes in some places in the country, especially in provinces. It is a responsibility of the government to add those as safety precautions. Because of this insufficiency, it caused the death of the main character, Magnifico. Lastly, they should’ve shown that they sued the suspect of the hit-and-run incident. Many people might not be able to recognize you but there will always be people whom you can help with little efforts. Magnifico managed to make those little things to lifelong accomplishments. He departed the world as an inspiration to those people whom he left. Given that most of  the issues given in the film are still occurring now, we can be someone like Pikoy. Even if we’re not that smart, we can use our abilities and determination to help. Refusing to do our responsibilities as a family member, a student, a citizen or whatever state of life we have–only means ignorance. We can start with small things and it will soon develop and will be recognized.
