vocalizing the harm of weapons

Rudy Francisco talks about how people should not harm each other. Weapons do not need to be used to create justice but rather compromise. He references that people dancing is like being in a battle but instead of using instruments, they use weapons; this is a less blissful way to deal with problems. Regardless the main reason he approach this topic is inform the world of the unfortunate ways we we destroy a graceful community. Literally as the title says "The Heart and The Fist, which illustrates that we are using weapons to defend ourselves when really, that's the heart of the problem.

To Highlight the Importance of having a Culture

My playlist is about how POC consist of many different cultural backgrounds and in order for us to live peacefully amongst each other, we need to acknowledge our differences and set aside biases that are harmful and offensive. It can also lead to micro-agression, discriminations, stereotypes, and other brutalities. Such accounts are spoken within this playlist. From the distasteful events, there still however so good like singer-songwriters will compose songs about their community and bring joy to those who can relate or admire the art and be amused. Educating ourselves about how POCs/cultures is important so that we can illustrate that this is what brings people together and helps other, despite the difference, share the space to live with.

In Priya's poetic speech she illustrates how their are many scenerios where people would take assumptions of one's race due to their appearance; like, "you are not that brown, you are not indian," can not be a determining factor that showcases what somebody may or may not identify as. Regardless of how we look, we are still rooted from our parents which provides us with the default in what race we are born to be and nothing can biologically change that. Due to stereotypes, their are depictions of what we should look like, but oftentimes such types are inaccurate ..people need to separate the pre-accusations to reality because that is the only way it is fair for anyone. (To have a clean slate.)

Assuming the American population and society standards is that people would judge and look down upon non-fluent english speaker, the natives do not stand a chance. This still very much a problem in the BIPOC community because with this mindset, it will affect the future and continue to be pass the judgements along.

Amy Tan wanted to note that people of the non-fluent english speakers are just as important as the fluent not because they may have experienced hardship and come from a background filled with their own wisdom, but because everyone should have equal chance to speak their mind and gain respect regardless of what the circumstances are. In this case, the circumstance is that those people are different, they are not born American or had fulfilled their education..so "Don't judge a book by its cover or someone's intelligence by her English."

Since the early 17th&18th century, African American racism has driven all the way to the 20th century with discrimination and micro-agression as an ongoing problem. However, in attempt to stop these brutality, the protest of Black Lives Matter presented itself in America in hopes to break the silence and claim Black's equality back. This has been a step forward to making America a safer and fairer country to live although it is unavoidable to completely resolve racism.
