The invention of gunpowder was called "one of Chinas 4 greatest inventions" (Comparative Timeline) and was created during the Tang dynasty. It was revolutionary both in the culture part of life, and the combat aspect as well. At the time, war was very "organized" for lack of a better word, so something as revolutionary as gunpowder gave more creativity and strategy for the way countries fought their opponents (China Class Presentation).

Scientific Method

The scientific method was developed by Francis Bacon and is still a crucial part of modern science today. The church was against many forms of new sciences that could end up disproving either things inside of the bible, or anything that they professed. Because of this, creating and developing the scientific method is an example of the older scientists challenging the authority to advance europe's scientific premise, where in europe that the time, the authority was mostly the roman church (Comparative Timelines).

Heliocentric Theory of Copernicus

Copernicus advanced the Heliocentric Theory which was that the sun was in the middle and all of the planets orbited it. The Consensus at the time was that Earth was in the middle. When Copernicus attempted to spread that theory, the church did everything they could to reject it. The entire church would say things like how the theory was fake, irrelevant, laughable, and how no one should ever see this (Nicholas Copernicus). Copernicus was one of few to rebel against the church and it ended up becoming the theory we use and the consensus through the world today (Comparative Timeline).

Paper Currency

Paper Money was an astronomical invention in terms of ancient China. This is because paper money revolutionized the way money is transferred and exchanged and continued to be the main way to express wealth up until credit/debit cards were created (Comparative Timeline). The way that people traded good and wealth was all mixed up, so the creating of paper currency was a revolutionary way of organizing wealth into one category. This connected with the invention of gunpowder saw China to become one of the most advanced and innovative societies at the time.

Islamic Enviroment

Ancient Islam is a good example of an environment that wants more revolution type of thinking. Because of the fact that people were leaving the religion and leaving islam all together, they wanted revolutionary thinker to help come up with more modern ideas to save the religion. This caused them to come up with ideas to later keep the religions and culture of islam together (Overbye).

Chinese Environment

As we talked about earlier, ancient China was a leader in innovations and modern advancements. The reason for this was because the push for advancement from factors like the government was much more intense then other societies at the time like ancient Europe. The push from the government creates a high standard for the general citizen population, which then in turn creates pressure for the people to create the future for society. This environment caused the people to make catastrophic inventions like the paper currency and gunpowder that we talked about, but also things like mechanical clocks, and fire works, (Comparative Timeline) all around that general time.
