I loved all of the books about Miss Nelson when I was growing up, but this one in particular is my favorite because the students trick the principal and run the classroom themselves! In actuality, the students are the ones that are really being tricked by their teacher.

They would want me to read this book over and over again therefore it will forever be one of my favorites because it reminds me of them.

I used to teach a reading comprehension class, and I was afforded the opportunity to read many picture books, Mufaro's Beautiful Daughter's was one of my favorites. An African folklore that reminds us to always be kind and nice, and that being ugly, selfish, and mean spirited gets you nowhere. Good always prevails!

The Missing Piece by Shel Silverstein is one picture book I frequently revisited. It is simple and playful, yet it delivers such a strong message: sometimes we go through life in search of something that we actually have inside ourselves all along. People so often fumble through life feeling incomplete, but this "incomplete" circle shows us that it is more important to enjoy the journey, and he ultimately learns that the thing we need most is just a well-rounded self!

Nowland- I will always have the best memories of secretly binge reading Hank the Cowdog! There's lots of pictures to go with the reading but really the stories were always fun and addicting. Htc is the closest thing to a picture book that I can remember liking and reading on my own. I recommend reading at least a few but be careful because you might not be able to stop buying them

I am and have been a lover of picture books for a very long time. I have so many personal favorites that it is hard to pick just one. Therefore, the latest one I love to hear is Peek-a-Boo, I Love You! by Sandra Magsamen. What used to be a bedtime story I would often read to my baby girl during infancy, has now become one of her favorites to read to me before she goes to sleep. With vivid, colorful flip book pages and a rhythmic rhyme scheme, how can one not enjoy hearing and watching a 3-year-old bring this story to life.
