Her parents stop on the side of the road in Ohio to pick wild watercress, a green and leafy plant. She wanted to go home because she didn't want anyone to see her. But, when she got homes, she expressed how she was embarrassed about her culture because they got her dinner from a ditch off of the road. So, her mom pulled out an old photo and shared a story about her family in China and the struggles they went through during the famine. Then, the young girl thinks that she should be creating new memories with her family.
