What should be done in our justice system to make sure we don’t have another  situation like “The Central Park 5”? 

What are some injustices that you have seen recently that you feel should change? How can we do this?

They tell us that we have our Miranda rights and whatnot, but will sit up and tell them that they have to say something. They will pressure these minors, especially those of color to tell them a false story. Instead of trying to search for another suspect, the pressure these young kids into lying. Recently, I feel as if Derek Chauvin wasn't sentenced accordingly. His white privilege was the only thing that gave him the opportunity to ever see the light of day. If George Floyd was a small white woman, Derek Chauvin would have been sentenced to life with the chance of no parole, and it would have been considered 1st-degree murder. I wish there wasn't a double standard. I wish we were actually all seen as equal. I really am not sure how we can get it across to white America that we are no different than them. We have been trying for so long, and we have fought so hard to show them the truth. But they turn a blind eye and plug their ears to mute our voices. Either way, no matter how tired we get, we need to keep fighting. We need to show them that we won't get tired, we need perseverance. There have been way too many incidents of times where someone else committed a crime and because a black man is near they blame him for the crime. There has even been times where a black man has commit a crime and the first black man they see they assume he's the one who did it when in reality they have the wrong man because they have a mindset that 'they all look the same'. 
Injustices I have seen recently that I think should change are things like adults saying the n word which is a derogatory term towards people of color. It's teachers saying these things and they receive no penalty what so ever. It has happened more than once and it's things where the principle will hear it and nothing is done. It does not make students of color feel comfortable in the building. Having a diverse jury will greatly reduce the chances of another situation like "The Central Park Five" to happen again. Having African American people look through another African American person's eyes would likely see how they see things and will really help the defendant in having a higher chance of beating the case or anything like that. Having just an all white jury will likely not help the black person because most white jurors see black people as animals and they think that no matter what crime was committed if it is a black person that committed it they are most likely guilty.
