May not be able to afford nicer things for yourself or family members. Could lead to homelessness health issues/problems. Can not afford education and so on. Also just society in general is very mean and could hurt someones confidence by being labeled as poor.

It creates a sense of unworthiness in the person who is being labelled so. They tend to lack focus and motivation in what they do. They fear that they won't be able to achieve anything because they are poor and the society acknowledges it. It creates a major psychological set back to the person being labelled so.
