In this chapter they mention four main factors that contribute to your overall health. They include exercise, nutrition, screen time, and communication. The first three were new factors to me and they stood out more than communication. In exercise there are many ways to keep your fitness levels up that would help increase your health. Fitness does not have to be in a gym, you can exercise in simple ways like riding your bike. Exercise has many health benefits, "Exercise is associated with more positive mood, improved sleep, better concentration and productivity and high self-esteem" (Risk, Regulation and Influence, 2). Living a healthy life style now will contribute to a longer, healthier life in the future. Nutrition is the next factor that contributes to health. Nutrition does not come from junk food. The energy needed for your body comes from healthy foods, "Many teens rely on vending machine snacks, fast food and on-the-go sugary sports drinks or sodas for fuel during the day" (Risk, Regulation and Influence, 2). Eating these types of food will not refuel your body's energy, it will instead lead to a person being tired and not having the energy to do anything. The final factor that stood out to me was screen time. We use a lot of technology in our world today, and many people are addicted to being on their devices. Looking at media all day can have negative effects on people, "However, research shows that excessive media exposure can negatively influence teenagers' nutrition, body image and health" (Risk, Regulation and Influence, 3). Limiting the amount of screen time that you have each day can help increase your health. All of these factors will help a person contribute to a healthier life style.

Last Summer my cousin came over to spend a week with us. She is not used to getting around that much because both of her parents work during the day and night. When she came over all she wanted to do was watch T.V and play video games. One day me and my mom went to the store and I asked her if she could buy 4 water guns (one for me, my two sisters, and my cousin). I then sat down with them when we came home and showed them what we got. We collaborated together and made up this water gun game that we all agreed on. We finally went outside for the first time that week and we played the game. It was a nice day and we were running around and trying to get each other. We were outside for three hours before we came back in. We had so much fun that we played it again the next day. We got a ton of great exercise and we stopped watching T.V to go do something productive. That night we didn't turn the T.V on because we were telling all of the funny stores about that day. We went to sleep and didn't wake up until noon. It was the best sleep we ever had and the next time she comes over, we are going to play it again.
