Aachens Bürgermeister Jürgen Linden über die Zulassung eines Demonstrationszuges am 9. November, dem 70. Jahrestag der Reichspogromnacht: 
 „Wir wollen öffentlichen Aufmärschen demokratiefeindlicher Parteien und Organisationen mit allen Mitteln entgegentreten. 
Die Wahl des Zeitpunktes und die inhaltliche Zielsetzung des Naziaufmarsches stellen für die Bürgerinnen und Bürger eine zynische Provokation dar, die das sittliche Empfinden der Bürger erheblich beeinträchtigt. Meinungs- und Versammlungsfreiheit können nicht für solche Elemente gelten, die die Demokratie abschaffen wollten.“

Jahrestag der Reichspogromnacht. „Die Wahl des Zeitpunktes und die inhaltliche Zielsetzung des damaligen Naziaufmarsches stellen für die Bürgerinnen und Bürger unserer Stadt eine zynische Provokation dar, die das sittliche Empfinden der Bürger erheblich beeinträchtigt“. Meinungs- und Versammlungsfreiheit, so heißt es weiter, könne nicht für solche Elemente gelten, die die Demokratie abschaffen wollten.
