Interview Q:

How would you describe PCC in your own words and describe a time you have witnessed it in practice?

Answer:
PCC to me is when the patient is consider on the same level as the health professional. They are also always considered first when achieving their health goal where their input is valued very highly.
And I have witnessed it in my local chemist whereby I was the client and the pharmacist was the health professional. In this situation the pharmacist advised me to take a certain drug for my cold I get every year but I knew from experience that it hadn't worked as effectively for me previously. They still recommend that there was more evidence for another medication and less side effects however they understood that it was my own choice of what medication I took. The pharmacist then complied and explained about the medication I wanted.

How would you resolve conflict?
In a patient conflict, how would you mediate the situation?
Who can you go to when a conflict occurs between employees?

ANSWERS
Consider the other person's perspective...might be busy at work, in class or with another commitment.
Discuss conflict respectfully and calmly.
Once I was faced with a customer who was getting increasingly mad about her order not being up to her standard. I offered her the options I could provide to resolve the situation, such as a remake or refund for the service. She did not accept these options and became increasingly enraged when I wasn't reacting the way she wanted me to her. I made sure I did not get angry myself, and instead calmly talked through the situation and what I could do to fix it. Eventually, I had to get a manager to discuss the issue with her as she was not listening to me. In this situation, the most important thing was that I stayed calm and tried to understand
