I recall learning about 2 types of organisational structures: flat structure and tiered hierarchy. Flat structure referee to a simplified, straightforward management where workers can either move up or down the company. Tiered hierarchy refers to having different levels of authority, usually in a chain of command where multiple managements have their own levels of the pyramid.
