For example, when it comes to the #metoo movement, people using their platforms to show how some people have abused their power and how something needs to be done about it. However, there are many elements within cancel culture that make it harmful to our society, especially when it comes to bringing things up from the past. Should we be cancelling people who have been accused of rape in order to get justice for his victims? Absolutely. Should we be cancelling people who said one bad thing out of context, have apologized for it, and have done nothing before or after that statement? No, we shouldn't be. Using call out culture can help, it gives a voice to people of lesser power. The internet is a HUGE part of cancel culture. Putting it on the internet makes it available to anyone in the world that has access to WiFi. For many people, when they see something they agree with, they automatically voice their similar opinion and don't allow for others to be heard because they consider it to be the "wrong" opinion.
