I made these slabs to support the weight, enable my project to dry without caving in, and to support the circular shape. My canvas was a circle based on my idea having a face structure and hair expanding outwards which needed a circle to give more length so the hair can stretch, than width a square would normally in my final project, this took up a large amount of my time and helped me with depth perceptions and dimensions of a face when not drawn in 2d. This process began by tracing out my reference image and then drawing part where I could identify a subtraction and addition. Secondly, I added clay and worked on the nose for a few days until I liked the result, drew a nose line, and dug in my nostrils. To begin, I tried to look at my nose n order to gain a shape, but it was hard to visualize the nostrils and the side profile so I tried to mimic those. Then I got a nose model which I took inspiration from, cut pieces out + carved some in and I got more of a nose shaped structure. Throughout the next couple days that I was building face structures, I changed my nose many times in order to end up with the final product. I then put a small ball and using the eye tool provided I was able to make a football shaped eye. I then created the eye crease at the top when the eye is opened by using that same tool and dividing a chunk out to get sunken in eyelids. To begin, the wilting flowers on my hair in the sculpture, emphasizes on the wilting, represents my hair throughout the years going from golden blonde, thick, and a curl pattern that got compliments left to right to now a light brown hair, frizzy, and a changed curl texture. Looking at older pictures, I felt as those that hair made me the most confident in my body and I felt pretty in front of a camera. Now is the compete opposite where my confidence has lowered and I am very insecure in terms of being in front of the camera, rather now I am solely behind it. though I feel less confident than I did before, the flowers arranged an organized pattern represent my need to still feel as though I need to take my parents regardless of how I feel internally.  Secondly, the facial structure of my person is made in order to look warped in terms of a large eyes, a misplaced small nose and a larger forehead in order to provide the message that the change in the years wasn't only in my hair but the way I view my face. Due to rarely taking pictures anymore, each photo I do take, I feel as those there is a different person in from of the camera every time.
