He was the first success in drilling for oil. Also Edwin Drake invented the steam engine drill, which was a more efficient  way of drilling for oil. Interdependence means to depend on others, which the U.S. depends greatly on it's states and leaders.  The economy in the revolution was based off of this. The town did end up failing due to the dictatorship from George Pullman.
