The success of a cloning in 1999 has caused some issues and problems to be addressed. Although the process of cloning can lead to positive causes, the negative aspect is not to be ignored. There is always improvements to be made in the world, but we have to ask ourselve, “At what cost?” The cloning process is not entirely safe and accurate and is very undeveloped. This leads to many problems with the clone. It is also equally unethical. According to the article, “In the case of Dolly, the sheep, more than 277 attempts were conducted before a viable clone was produced.” This only suggests that if humans were to be cloned, scientists would need to conduct numerous “failed” attempts.” Cloning shouldnt be attempted until a safer better way is made. Well, there was a sheep named Dolly that was created entirely from cloning. Although cloning is an interesting and shocking way to produce living things, many disadvantages have been seen to follow. For example, Dolly the sheep had multiple abnormalities and many health problems that ultimately took her life away. Cloning is also seen as unethical because the “clone” does not have a true and unique DNA. Some believe cloning can be very beneficial especially for endangered species to repopulate their species. However it is stated, “the process of cloning endangered species is more difficult and would likely take years to complete” (BioExplorer). Overall cloning is an interesting way of production that is still being figured out through studies.
