Music: sing the song "If You're Happy And You Know It..." with different movements and actions. Twist of "If You're Grumpy and You Know It..." with negative actions like a pouty face or stomp your feet.

Art: draw/paint/create examples of a personal terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. then draw/paint/create examples of a personal terrific, wonderful, nice, very good day.

I feel like every young child can relate to this book .
After you've read through the book with the children, you can do a social story. The students can be asked questions like: "When my friends play with other friends I feel..."
or
"When I'm frustrated at my friend I..."
and the students can chose from a range of reactions.

It also shows that even though a parent may scold you or get upset with you when you do something wrong they are always ready to love you. Even when you are constantly disobeying them, like David throughout the story- his mom was there at the end with open arms to love and forgive him despite the wrong he did.

If Everybody did talks about if everyone did what they wanted out world would be stinky, messy, unhealthy, etc. The book shows pictures of what would happen if everybody did what everyone else was doing. It shows the children to be leaders and not followers, to do what is right even if that means not hanging out with your friends. This book gives numerous lessons to children on how they can/need to behave but also shows them through the pictures what or lives would be like if we didn’t obey the rules...Caoutic!
