An example of energy transformation is when chemical becomes mechanical. Or energy can change its location. This is called energy transfer.

No! Energy can't be created or destroyed because of the Law of Conservation of Energy. This law states that energy can't be created or destroyed. However, energy can change. This law applies to energy transfer and energy transformation. When these processes happen sometimes there are some waste energies. That waste energy can't just be destroyed. So, it forms other molecules. For example, in photosynthesis there is oxygen as waste. That oxygen is something we breath in and something we use.

How does energy flow in a system?

Energy flows through a system in many ways. For example, a flow system can be our Phet lab. We had a sun, solar panels and a fan. The way this flow chart worked is that the sun gives off light energy. Then that light energy transfer on to the solar panel. The solar panel then transformed that light energy into electrical energy. This energy was then transformed into mechanical energy which was the fan spinning.

Some systems produce waste energy. Waste energy is energy that was not used in the system. That waste energy does not just disappear. This is because of the Law of Conservation of energy. For example, photosynthesis is a flow system that has a byproduct or waste (oxygen). This oxygen is something we use for our ability to work and for our flow system.
