While remaining within the bounds of conventional pop music, Bush's work continually involved diverse influences, such as glam rock, classical music, folk, progressive rock, and art rock. She was also one of the earlier adopters of the Fairlight CMI, a synthesiser, sampler, and DAW that proved to be extremely influential for music production. 

This incorporation of a wide range of genres and use of non-traditional recording methods was clearly very influential on Bjork's songwriting process.

The label was extremely popular with hip-hop producers and DJs for its Ultimate Breaks & Beats series, as selected by resident crate digger "Breakbeat Lou". UBB was a series of 25 compilation albums dedicated to collecting funk, soul, and RnB tracks with samplable drum breaks. 

With each addition to the series, the tracks featured would instantly become popular, and are now the most sampled breaks of all time, including the Amen, Think, Funky Drummer, and Honey Dripper breaks. 

Hip-hop's sampling then in turn created the British Breakbeat and Breakbeat Hardcore scene, which was combined with the reggae and dub scene in Jamaica to form Jungle. Though the general public likely first heard it in N.W.A.'s 'Straight Outta Compton', the Amen break is most commonly associated with Jungle and DnB. These breaks are the foundations of the genre which Goldie developed, without which it likely would never have existed.
