I have only seen the movies, so I thought since I got the entire set for my birthday I should start reading them. 
So far I have completed chapter one. It is different from the movie for sure.
We learn descriptions and some insight to the Dursley's, which are Harry Potter's family. We get to know what happened to Harry and his parents. I also got to hear about Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall and Hagrid. 
So far I love the book more then the movie. The descriptive language is much better than what they used in movies for visual. I recommend this book to everyone who is into fantasy.
