It's where people would come together and discuss their issues. I decided to illustrate a dining table that would be filled with iconic dishes from my country to depict that at my core is my Latin heritage. However since I was born in the United States, I also feel very disconnected from  my people as I do not share their struggles nor am I able to speak their language. I'm unable to break through the thick chains of doubt and embarrassment which hold me back from expressing myself. However, there have been attempts of stepping out of my comfort zone such as dying my hair a vibrant, bubblegum pink as seen in the piece. In my piece, I depict my shell as a dark cube surrounded in chains against the subtle blues of the sky and clouds which in turn expresses that my thoughts are rigid, dark, and not able to become fluid and sweet. In my painting, a girl look peers into a mirror while the seams of her face are splitting down the middle.
