Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Adrian Wong Pak Ong, and my matric number is 285050. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), and I am now in my final semester, undertaking an internship as part of my graduation requirement.

I’m thrilled to embark on this new chapter, where I can apply the knowledge and skills I’ve acquired throughout my academic journey in a real-world, practical setting.

At present, I am serving as a Value Creation Intern at Gobi Partners Malaysia. Gobi Partners is a leading pan-Asian venture capital firm that focuses on early-stage investments in innovative startups across Southeast Asia, China, and beyond. The firm invests in a wide range of sectors including technology, digital media, e-commerce, and sustainability-focused ventures. With its strong presence and track record, Gobi Partners is recognized as one of the key VC players not only in Malaysia but also on the global stage.

I am eager to share my learning and growth journey with all of you, and I look forward to gaining valuable insights alongside such an inspiring team.

We began with a briefing session, where I was introduced to the company’s rules.  I also received my work after briefing session, which will be used to complete my upcoming value creation tasks. I also meet with several employees across different departments.

Overall, it was a smooth first day.

It was a good experience because I know my colleagues better. Also the food was tasty. I felt welcomed, even though I’m still new intern.
