I once got dinged on an assignment because I copy and pasted the APA style generated by the database, thinking I would correct it later on. I had been a librarian for 10 years!

I think Google scholar often gives better results than our library catalog (and I use it a lot) even though I feel obligated to make the catalog sounds like it works well and should be used first. Boolean operators sometimes get in the way rather than helping.
