Source: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/asia_pacific/china-coronavirus-live-updates/2020/01/30/1da6ea52-4302-11ea-b5fc-eefa848cde99_story.html

The death tole in China has rise to 170 And over 7,000 infected, with an increase of 1,500 from the previous day. The United States and Japan both sent plans to Wuhan to evacuate citizens. The virus has been confirmed in France, Hong Kong, Japan, Nepal, Cambodia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Taiwan, Canada and Sri Lanka. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2020/01/22/mapping-spread-new-coronavirus/?arc404=true&tid=lk_inline_manual_13 (mapped spread)
This is a global Epidemic and has caused economic problems on the macro level. This out break has caused Chinas economy to drop do to the lack of tourists. This has also caused back up of flight which leads to stocks dropping and multiple companies losing money. seeing how the virus is far off form an cure and is spreading like wild fires, I am concerned for a lot of production that occurs in China, but at the same time this will boost the money that will be put into the medical field to come up with a cure.

Source: Boston Globe

Outbreak in China keeps shoppers from spending money. As Chinese authority's advise people to stay inside due to the outbreak, this as added on to what was already expected to be a challenging year economically for China. According to French bank Societe Generale China might fall below 6% in the first quarter if this outbreak does stabilize by March. This illness has spread to ever province in China, most notably a vibrant Chinese consumer sector which holds a big responsibility for big corporations such as NIKE INC. and IMAX Corp. This is an outbreak that is creating a lot of problems in the economy on the macro scale. This outbreak spreading would have effected the economy regardless, but it happening in China caused it to spread faster and hit big brand name factory that ship a lot of products to the United States.

Title: Beer sales have been spiking as virus becomes more popular

Source: The Boston Globe

The recent pandemic of the corona virus has been no joke, but thats not the only corona thats on the rise. Recent reports in the Boston Globe state that the "virus may be no match for the real Carona." the article also interviews bartenders who say that they thought this outbreak would have caused the beers sales to drop, but it's quite the opposite that happened. This caused their stock to increase. this was caused by an outbreak, one that has effected our global economy in many ways, but this is the first to actually help people. Seeing how the virus has stopped flights, companies shut down, production on hold. all of this effect the economy on a macro scale.

Link: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2020/03/24/covid-19_and_the_unintended_consequences_of_economic_shutdown_142741.html

Summary: this article speaks on how COVID - 19 is destroying our economy, but the government-shut down is making it worse. By doing so we have bankrupted millions of small business, that we will eventually try to fix using fiscal and monetary stimulus. Stimulus can only sustain units as long as the unemployed is put back to work in a timely manner.
Other countries have worked around the pandemic, using different steps to resolve this current problem rather than a lockdown. The first rules they instated are as follows: if you are in public wear a mask, if you enter a building or work your temeture is tested, if you have a fever you will bee tested for the virus. If you have it, everyone you have been in contact with the past week will also be tested.
The health of the economy is intertwined with the. health of the people who make the economy. Studies show that a recession coincides with the increase of suicide rate, for every 1% that rises in unemployment. This leads to an addition death per ever 100,000 people and a 5% increase in divorces.

Correlation:
This article directly relates not only directly to our class, but every single person that is a part of our class. The drop of employment effects all of us and so do the side effects do swell.
