In the XIX century, discontent among the Creoles of Buenos Aires was growing, so, an intellectual, commercial and military project with independence ideas began to develop in the Viceroyalty of the Río de La Plata.
When Sevilla announced they have fallen in the troops of Napoleon, the viceroy Cisneros had to leave that the Creoles do the Cabildo Open initiative they proposed. On May 22th, a session of Cabildo Open decided to dismiss Viceroy Cisneros. Finally, the declaration of Independence was signed on July 9th of 1816.
