         <description><![CDATA[<p>This is an image of one of the aircraft that bombed Pearl Harbor that day. Japan led these planes and dropped bombs in the water that shot into our military ships. They traveled 200 miles to Pearl Harbor which was considered a breakthrough for plane technology at the time. </p>]]></description>

         <title>USS Arizona</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This was the USS Arizona, it was the largest ship at Pearl Harbor and in the whole Navy fleet. It was sunk on December 7th and was turned on its side losing the lives of 1,177 people. It still sits at the bottom of the harbor and is the main vocal point of the memorial. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Japanese flew over the Oahu island to get to Pearl Harbor. They flew low and through the mountains so they were undetectable by the radar truck set up around the island. This was the main reason why it was such a surprise to those in the harbor, because they got no warning whatsoever. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This is Doris Miller he was a mess attendant for the USS West Virginia on the day of the Pearl Harbor Attack. He rose up to the challenge that day and was able to shoot down a plane as well as aid many of the injured. Afterward, he was up for many medals despite never really being apart of the navy.</p>]]></description>
