Summary: This book is about a fox that sneaks into a barnyard with many other animals and tries to intimidate them. He tries to fight some of the hens, but lost every fight he was in. He then meets the wolf who tries to teach him how to be an intimidating predator, but even that did not seem to work. Then the wolf thought of a scheme that would surely work. He tells the fox to go steels some of the hen’s eggs and he could raise them. He tries to raise them to be plump so that they will taste good as a chicken dinner. However, this plan does not work once the chickens are hatched because they began to call the fox their mother. He began to get attached to the chicks and could not eat them. The fox then disguises as the mother hen and tries to take the chicks back to the farm to keep them safe from the wolf. The disguise did not work but the chicks got reunited with their real mother and it all worked out well.
Contribution to world of children's literature: I think that this book shows children that it is good to be curious about people who are different than them.
