         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>After reading "What Will I Do If I Can't Tie my Shoe?" written by Heidi Kilgras, students will compile a list of three things they can do if they found themselves unable to tie their shoes.</p></li><li><p>Students will engage in a class discussion about the importance of the text, "Woohoo You're Doing Great!" written by Sandra Boynton. Students will discuss the importance of positive self talk and not giving up even when difficult challenges arise. </p></li><li><p>Students will create a brochure on how to successfully practice an important life skill. Some example brochures could include: How to Tie Shoes, How to Communicate Well With Others, How to Wash My Hands, How to Problem Solve, etc. At the back of the brochure, students will remind others ways they can stay positive and push through difficulty. </p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Students in groups of 3 to 4 will use puppets to put on a play about working through a friendship problem (given out by the teacher) and perform for their peers. </p></li><li><p>Students will create their own comic strips based on a story about perseverance with family members. Students will be both the author of the story and the illustrator. Students must come up with a problem between two family members and decide how perseverance will help them get through the problem.</p></li><li><p>After reading "Sal Boat" written by Thyra Heder, students will create their own sailboats in groups of 5 to 6 with paper, glue, popsicle sticks, and pipe cleaners. After, students will reflect on how their group persevered while working together by creating a slideshow presentation.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
