A video of me blowing a kiss to the camera after a successful birthday dinner. Lin Asian Bar in Austin has the best soup dumplings in Central Texas!

Though this is a personal example of myself, I included it because I could not find anything from another brand that matched its aesthetic. I really enjoy the perceived fun and open energy of this video, paired with the bustling background where you can hear my family, and the empty plate that proves that my food was delicious. Also, my fashion aesthetic in this video is among my favorite types of aesthetics: Clean and girly, fun and classy.

I have followed @afoodieinaustin for years. Her posts are always pleasing to my eye and her recommendations have never led me astray. When I lived closer to Austin, I used to spend any weekends where I had spare energy trying out her recommendations. She is the main reason I have thought so many times of starting a food blog, especially now that I live far from Austin and in an area that has no staple blogger like her.

My family is originally from El Salvador. I am a first-generation American. Though I love to cook, I do not often make traditional recipes from El Salvador because they are either too time consuming, I cannot easily access the ingredients, or I simply don’t know how to cook them. Glenda’s personal brand and mission of empowering Salvadoreans and helping them connect with their roots is very inspiring to me, and highlights just how mission, values, and visuals are to a personal brand. Her use of videos, traditional recipe formats, and transparency when it comes to her goal makes her a role model when it comes to shaping my brand.

In all her videos, Ms. Yonne shares wisdom in a direct, Generation Z/Millennial style approach. Many of her opinions mirror mine, and I appreciate how she has built her brand off of honesty, humor, and the goal of helping others better themselves. The levity she brings to serious topics is an aspect I would like to adopt within my brand.
