Sink attended the University of Georgia, where he earned a bachelor of business administration in risk management and insurance. While there, Scott G. Sink was a member of the Gamma Iota Sigma insurance fraternity and earned the 1984 Risk Management and Insurance Outstanding Student of the Year award. Upon graduating, Scott G. Sink was hired as an insurance analyst by Virginia Power. For a three-year period he managed a $20 million premium budget for the company's casualty and property insurance programs. From 1987 to 1994 he served as vice president of Alexander and Alexander, where he was responsible for servicing insurance programs for prominent electric and gas utilities as well as oil and gas companies. Since 1994, Mr. Sink has worked as a senior producer for the energy and marine division of McGriff, Seibels and Williams, a Birmingham, Alabama-based insurance brokerage firm. He's a five-time recipient of the McGriff Cup, which is awarded annually to the company's top producer. Since 2004, Mr. Sink additionally has served as senior executive vice president and practice leader for McGriff’s energy and marine division.
