English Reading and Writing 1: Types of Paragraph. Theories: 1. Cognitive Load Theory: Reduce extraneous cognitive load by using clear and organized presentation slides. 2. Dual Coding Theory: To make our readers have a good memory of our information. Design: Set up 5 areas so the entire infographic looks tidy.

We applied cognitive load theory in the infographic because as the theory states that it focuses on not putting too much information into the design and we also provide images that aligned with the content to viewers imagine.

We applied cognitive load theory to manage our information and visual aid to make it more easily for our learners to understand the contents. And used dual coding theory that about to add the image which can help our learners get into the focus contents for example, in our infographic we wanted the learner to focus on the example the we put the image along with each example.

We believe that the information presented in our infographics should be presented in a straightforward and concise manner because our course is Classics of literature therefore most of the content is quite boring and difficult to understand. We arranged the information by using white space to make the information stand out.
Typography: The main topic is the most contrast area to grab readers’ attention, sub-topics( yellow and black) to make a clear separation between the main topic and sub-topics, used black and white in information to provide a clear space and easy to read.
Image: Our pictures is relevant to the content (victorian era).
Color: We use complementary color schemes.

Dual coding theory, we used sticky notes in the infographic to highlight the differences between two and three syllable examples more clearly and to make the infographic's main points stand out. Cognitive load theory to make it easier for learner to become overwhelmed .We use avoiding redundancy to avoid unnecessary information. And also we use scaffolding to start with the basic information and go to the harder one.
