I asked my grandfather about what technology he did and did not like while he was growing up. He said he disliked the typewriter most. While it was a great invention at the time and very useful, he said he dislike it because if he messed up he would have to start all over again. He said looking back now it helped him learn patience and learning how to do things correctly.

I asked my grandmother what technology there was in school when she was younger. She stated that they did not have much but something that was relatively newer for the time was the Slide Projector. The projector was used to project enlarged photographic slides onto a screen. She said this was not an everyday use but an occasional one and it was cool to see the pictures enlarged. It was exciting for the time.

In the 1980's computers made their way into homes, allowing people to access the World Wide Web within their own homes. They also made their way into schools, this was a technology my mom was very excited about while growing up. Typing games and learning programs were what kept her interested in the technology. She said the computer made her feel like a more independent learner and she didn't have to rely on only textbooks.

When asking my dad about some of the technologies he had in school that he used daily and liked the most, he said the graphing calculator. He said it was so convenient to use. You didn't have to spend so much time thinking and trying to solve problems on paper or in your head. He could visually see the how the math problems worked and was able to understand math in a different way. This helped him in the future understand math to start his own business.

I spoke to my boyfriend's grandmother about what she loved about technology while growing up. She said a memory that came to mind was when she was younger and in school, the teacher would turn the lights down and they would look at the pictures on film tapes. She said it was interesting to see so much of the world in her classroom. It was exciting to her! This emphasized how much of the world she had to learn about.

I asked my boyfriend's little brother, who is in the 4th grade, what he likes most about school. He said that he likes that his work is on the computer. I asked him about why he likes it more than having papers more often. He said that he doesn't lose anything, it's all kept in one place which makes it easy. Chromebooks are used in so many classrooms now and for almost all work. I think it is beneficial in aspects like getting a good idea of how technology works, it keeps things for organized, and it could potentially be quicker.
