People may not realise they have the power to do something new, oppose something or change something. For example, within my setting, some practitioners do not feel like they have the power to set up an activity which may be a bit different and unique. This may be influenced by the way they are made to feel by room leaders, managers and other practitioners. Power is often viewed as a source of order, or a source of comfort depending on an individual’s position, many people believe that without power, there would be ….ANARCHY!!!! Furthermore, there would be no stability. Foucault focuses on how power is constituted by accepted forms of knowledge, understanding, and truth. He highlights the idea that truth induces power. Foucault recognises that power is not just a negative or repressive thing that places people (not always appropriate people, eg. Donald Trump) in front of others based on what position they are in and who has a bigger force.

It starts from the individual's initial thoughts of having a voice inside (eg of discontent with a current situation) 
Further in, the thoughts change to how the individual sees themselves in relation to their community or culture, and whether those around them encourage these inner thoughts.
Inwards again (all the while the feeling of power is stronger) the individual sees how they fit in relation to those directly around them and whether they feel they can influence them to agree with their thoughts when they speak them outwardly. 
Finally, the power manifests at its strongest point once their outward actions directly imitate their innermost feelings, they feel that their opinion is agreed upon by those around them and have been granted permission (whether imagined or real) to act.
