2. Children which are from low income families are more likely to have a poor diet, the low nutritional content within their diet could result in higher levels of sickness. As there has been an increase in the competition for jobs abroad the New Labour Government increased the spending on education to try and give children the skills to make them more competitive in a global labour market. The educational policies created were aimed at improving the skills of children and reducing inequality amongst children so that every child has the same chance such as specialist schools.
2. An increase in migration has meant that education is now more multicultural. All schools now teach about the ‘six main world religions’ in RE. In more recent years’ schools have had to respond to increasing numbers of Polish children entering primary and secondary schools.  Multiculturalism has also affected the teaching of British history, English literature and standard English.

2. They use setting and streaming therefore in a similar way to the tripartite system working class pupils are usually found to be in the bottom sets and streams. This is because teachers give them a bad label of not being as clever as middle class pupils and of being more misbehaved.
