Nikos Eggonopoulos was a Greek professor of the National Technical University of Athens, painter, set designer and poet. He is considered to be one of the major representatives of the generation of the '30s.He was also one of the main exponents of the surrealist movement in Greece.

I chose his painting <> which was made in the 1940 when the Greek-Italian War
(28 Oct 1940 - 23 Apr 1941) started,so I believe it sent a message to the Greeks that liberation was feasible!The theme is still relevant as a terrible war takes place in Ukraine and people there need hope!Also,the figures and the colors stimulated my interest!

When I look it, I remember my first travel by plane when I looked out the window I saw the landscape smaller than the reality and the Sun rays were strong and luminous like in this image.
