Student voice in the PLC is essentially the data; they drive our collaboration and instruction. Informal student assessment through peer collaboration allows the teacher to take what students are engaged and excited about and have that drive their instruction and fit that to the standards.

The student voice plays an important role in the PLC. It is the assessment data, that we receive from the instruction that they received, which drives our collaboration and we are then able to adjust our instruction as necessary.

The students are the focal point of collaboration. It is all about their understandings and mis-understandings. What they do or don't do drives the topic of collaboration.

Gives opportunity to look at students in terms of trends by viewing data across classrooms.

Allows us to look at students from a group as well as individual learning perspectives.

Something to try would be letting students reflect on their achievement, identify weaknesses, and then turn those weaknesses into a PLC goal.
