Joey Bada$$ has inspired me on changing the way i listen to music.Artists similar to Joey such as Kendrick Lamar decide to follow this agenda of having powerful lyricism and storytelling at the same time has really changed the way i listen to music. For example in his debut album '1999' and 'Summer Knights' in nearly all of his songs he always depicts a story either it being overcoming an obstacle, kicking it with his friends like steez, or choosing his platform to speak upon a social inequality.This is why i believe Joey has inspired me to to really pay close attention to songs that I'm newly listening too and asking questions like "do i like the lyrics" or "what is the message about this song". #MyStory #JoeyBada$$ #1999 #SummerKnights #Lyricism

Joey Bada$$ being born in Brooklyn had the opportunity and the fortune to listen some of the best artists.In a interview with "Power 106 Los Angeles" he had stated that his mother would play "everything" from " Betty Wright to Prince to Biggie to Jay to a bunch of 90's Reggae." Although the main artists that had gave him a little influence were Nas and Biggie. Especially Nas throughout his illmatic era gave the opportunity for Joey to really learn how to flow in his songs.

As well as Biggie teaching him how to really rhyme with this music.Another artist that had influenced Joey was his discovery of MF DOOM in high school.The rhymes and flows being borrowed likewise from other legends of the game like Jay-Z as well, and stating "All of that mixed up and I eventually became myself".
