Henry Ford became cemented in history with his creation and production of the first car. He is also credited with the creation of the assembly line, which is one of the most important aspects of a mass production company.

Magis: Henry Ford accumulates extreme amounts of wealth. Som much so, that huis company was worthy and estimates 188 billion dollars in the first 10 years of its first release.

Agents of Change:
America had a problem with transportation. the only automobiles available were luxury carriages and vehicles. As described by Ford, these vehicles were not suited for the more primitive roads and lacked durable materials in critical parts. Henry Ford saw and opportunity to make a crucial change. He began developing the first Ford vehicle in 1896, with the first release of cars being in 1908.  Ford sold 15 million cars by May of 1927, making it one of the best selling vehicles ever.

Man for Others:
With Ford’s boom in production, it had to employ more employees. In 1914, $5 per day was double the existing pay rate for factory workers, and on top of that, Ford reduced the workday from nine to eight hours. The next day, an estimated 10,000 people lined up outside Ford’s employment office hoping to be hired. Ford’s increased pay greatly improved employee retention since the monotonous and strenuous work of the moving assembly line was causing high turnover. He even allowed his workers to purchase the vehicles they created. This amount of workers ended forming what is known today as, the middle class.

He was important for the growth of the East coast of Florida and founder of the Florida East Coast Railway. He is also a founder of the cities of Miami and Palm Beach.

Flagler demonstrated the Ignatian value of Magis because he did the more to develop Florida’s east coast through his expansion of railroads and founding of the city of Miami. The Florida East Coast Railway expanded towards South Florida and expanded civilization in Florida. Miami and Palm Beach led to a new area of civilized expansion and an expansion to the societal influence.

Men for others:

Henry Flagler demonstrated being a man for others through his contributions to the Eastern Coast Florida area. His railroads expanded US civilization towards the South Eastern coast of Florida and allowed new opportunities for those who migrated there. He founded cities such as Miami and Palm Beach which today are very important cities in the US. He also contributed lands for schools, cemeteries, parks, churches, libraries, hospitals and court houses in Palm Beach County. His contributions to society in South Eastern Florida led to the growth of several cities and the well being of citizens of that area.

Agent of Change:

Henry Flagler observed that Eastern Coast of Florida was an area of potential and sparsely populated area. His contributions through the Florida East Coast Railway paved the foundations for the cities of Palm Beach and Miami and expanded American civilization to that area. He also changed the well being of Palm Beach through his contributions of land to the county thus aiding the education and law of the area. Lastly, he contributed to the city of St. Augustine and his work lead to the foundation of Flagler College.

As a boy, he worked with his father, who operated a boat that ferried cargo between Staten Island, New York, where they lived, and Manhattan.He was a self made multi-millionaire who then became one of the wealthiest Americans in the 19th century.

Magis:
 In the late 1820s he went into business on his own, building steamships and operating ferry lines around the New York Region. He became a dominant force in the industry by engaging in fierce fare wars with his rivals. He was a passenger of the New York harbor with one boat, then he started his own steamship company, eventually controlling Houston River traffic. He also provided the fairest rail service between New York and Chicago.

Men for and with other:
In reality, his sole significant philanthropic gift was $1 million in 1873, at the end of his life, to establish and endow Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. (The athletic teams are known as the Commodores.) He also even donated $50,000 to the Church of the Strangers in New York City and lend his money to businessmen.

Agents of change:
He saw that we didn’t have a faster way of transportation, so shifted his focus to the railroad industry, where he built another empire and helped make railroad transportation more efficient. Vanderbilt-related operations, along with student and visitor spending generated an economic impact of $11.9 billion in economic activity, approximately 79,200 jobs and more than $4.2 billion in labor income, an impact that has grown significantly in the last two years.

Men For Others: JP Morgan provided for peoples needs improving railroads and transportation. He reorganized several major railroads and because of this, he had a very powerful railroad magnate. He also created banks for people who had no where to leave there money safely.

JP Morgan demonstrated magis by constantly doing more. JP Morgan was already a very rich man helping people when he was sticking to expanding and investing in railroads as well as making them better. Already having these achievements, JP Morgan took another endeavor and created a investment banking company.

Agents of change
With transportation being in critical need in the 1800s, JP Morgan Improved railroad companies and reconstructed them to be more effective. Building more railroads and improving transportation was a big help to society and makes JP Morgan a suitor for Agents Of Change.
