In Norway,the island of Utøya was attacked.Marcel Gleffe,a German living there,heard gunshots and immediately went to rescue the people who were swimming away from the island.He managed to save roughly twenty people.This is a sign of courage because he decided to do such a dangerous thing by his own.

Five years ago in Vienna a gun attack took place. An ordinary civilian, named Gültekin, despite being injured himself he managed to save two more severly injured people. He refused immediate help putting others before himself. This act shows incredible courage and bravery since not many people would enter active danger in order to save others.

On 8 June 2023, in the town of Annecy (France), a man attacked children in a playground with a knife. Henri,a 24-years-old man intervened blocked and distracted the attacker, preventing more serious tragedy.

In July 2018 in Mati in the Attica region of Greece wildfires destroyed the area. Mousa an Egyptian-national fisherman went out into the flames and sea-smoke , pulled dozens of people from the water using his boat and and rope. He estimated he rescued 23 people.
