Hygiene in the Elizabethan age was very poor, most people didn't very often and just used perfumes or sweet waters to cover the smell.  When there was any kind of surgery people would often die because of infections from germs. The Globe was was built by Shakespeare's company in 1598. Richard Burbage played a main role in the Lord Chamberlain's - King's Men. Some more mention able Elizabethan actors beside Shakespeare are Edward Alleyn, John Heminge, and William Rowley. Plays at this time usually fell into three categories: histories, tragedies, and comedies. Histories were usually stories from England's past. Tragedies told sad stories about death and love, an example of a tragedy would be Rome and Juliet. A lot of the phrases that he came up with and used in his plays were also put into  “A Dictionary of the English Language” by Samuel Johnson. Shakespeare invented these new words and phrases by borrowing from other languages, adding prefixes and suffixes as well connecting other words.
