Don't judge a book by its cover - I feel like this is vague but still suits the book well. I think it fits the message of the book nicely because everyone judges Khalil. They all assume since he is African American, he is automatically a drug dealer or in a gang. While everyone else who knew the real Khalil, stood behind him and defended him.

Another book I think conveys the same message is The Giver. The Giver is a book where everyone is treated the same because they live in black and white. While it's the opposite circumstances, I believe that it's saying the same thing because they are all raised to look and act the same while any thoughts of impulsiveness is strongly frowned upon.
