Carnival is an annual event when my town celebrates with parades and another amusements. Always we celebrate it in the month of March. People meet in the "malecon" of the city to watch the festivity and almost always they go with family or friends.

"Danza de moros and cristianos, la negrada" is a dance the which have date in September (21 st) until the first week of octuber. The members are Santiagos, Pilato, Caines, Caballitos, Sabario and Negros. Any person can wear costumes of the Negros (costume and mask). this festivity finish with " el Hueso" is a processsion of a small coffin with a bone , this means that dance has finished.

The Liceres is an annual tradition when the people of Santiago tuxtla commemorate the attack of a lynx on the town in the days of colonization. People, particularly young people and children, wear a leather or costume. This costume consists of two parts, a ropon and a hood, the costume must be colorful. This act represents the lynx or as we of the people call it "Licer". This character goes out into the streets in a herd of 13, 14, etc ... to chase people around. A tourist should see how children have fun with this tradition, in addition to running when they see a "licer" to avoid being carried or beaten. For me is my favorite celebrate because We can run and fun with all of the town.

In April, my country celebrate the culture, is the month when we celebrate with a fair, eat traditional dishes and all the visitors contribute to the economy of the town. At the Banderilla fair, you can do different things, like do up to the rides, play marbles and be with the family in a healthy environment.

Christmas Eve is one of the biggest events in my town. A lot of people arrive from other places to visit their family and friends. In the day, events are made in the park as food contests, dance, horse race and soccer matches. At night they gather in their homes to dinner, to dance, break piñatas and drink beer. Also the municipal agent performs a free dance at night, where most young people attend. I would recommend visitors who attended all the events that are held in the park because they are very fun and entertained, also at the dance that is done at night can meet a girl or boy and have a nice time.
