I have seen my mother (who is white) get pulled over for having no tags and a taillight out and still be allowed to leave with a warning. But my stepdad, and father (who are black) have been pulled over without being told the reason and asked to step out of the car without probable cause. Being "stopped, frisked, and searched" as Mrs. Alexander explains it. I can only imagine what would have happened if I wasn't there.
