         <description><![CDATA[<p>When going to the beach it's always important to check for riptides from a higher level to get a clear view of the riptide. However riptides are hard to spot and you can get caught without being able to spot it. </p><p><br/></p><p>If caught in a riptide the best thing to do is swim sideways not towards the shore or the ocean, when out of the riptide then swim to shore or call for help by raising a fist in the air (this should be done while in the riptide as well). </p><p>What was your main learning or critical information from this week?</p><p><br>Why is it important to have this in your tool kit and what harms could happen without this in your kit?</p><p>Rips are dangerous, not having this information can risk survival even more. <br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>How to keep safe at a 'Good party'</p><ul><li><p>Having someone who is sober to rely on and be looked after</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>understand consent </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>no your limits (alchol and/or drugs</p></li><li><p>protection (if having intercourse)</p></li><li><p>not being coerced by peer preasure</p></li></ul><p>Going to parties is a regular occurances especially in teenage/young adult life. Keeping safe is difficult and needs to be a concious desicion using knowledge like up above to keep people safe. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>consent can be given and taken at any point of time</p></li><li><p>not saying no is the same as not saying yes</p></li><li><p>both participants need to be sound of mind (not drunk or on drugs), awake (not sleeping or drowsy), consenting, comfortable with it, safe, and happy.</p></li><li><p> legal age of consent in SA is 17</p></li><li><p>if taken advantaged of a rape kit can be done (a somewhat invasive test that looks at the damage of a vagina ex. bruising and if the test is done early enough the sperm left behind.</p></li><li><p>being taken advantage of can happen anywhere but generally dark, isolated places with a few to 0 people around and the victim is alone, drunk, druged, coercred or trapped etc. </p></li><li><p>a lot of the time women are the victim however men can also be the victim. </p></li><li><p>not understanding why taken advantage of someone is wrong is common.</p></li></ul><p>As a female this information is helpful to try and avoid some of the situations here but it's important that others know how much it can hurt someone physically and emotionally, and even taking precautions can still lead to a bad situation so knowing where to go or what to get done like a rape kit after it is vey helpful.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>preparation for bushwalk </p><ul><li><p>look at sites that talk about the hike you want to go on</p></li><li><p>check if the trail is open </p></li><li><p>check the difficulty of the trail (know ability)</p></li><li><p>pack appropriate items for bushwalk depending on the length, surrondings, time it takes to walk and the weather.</p></li><li><p>doube check before that everythimg needed is in a pack  and once you get to the location do so again.</p></li><li><p>baisic essetinals include -  water (for the entire trip, appropriate clothes i.e hiking shoes, moveable/breathable clothing, hat, as well as sunscreen, food, portable charger, tent (depending on length), and hiking backpack. There are many more things that could be packed but only essentials for the trip.</p></li><li><p>backpack should weigh no more than 20% of body weight</p></li><li><p>watchout for wildlife</p></li><li><p>tell someone not going on the hike where you will be. </p></li></ul><p>It's important to have this information for a hike to ensure that I'm being safed and prepared. A hike can vary in difficulty so if I pack wrongly for a hike it can be really bad for my safety and health. dehydration ,sunburns are just some of the dnagers of not beung prepared </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>“People of all genders benefit from living in communities that promote gender equality”<br><br>Is this above statement true? Explain your opinion</p><p>If soceity had communities that were gender equal everyone wouold benefit as there would be no stigmas, 'traditional' ways, a right to be treated no better or worse if one is a man, woman or any gender.<br></p><p>List some of the benefits for men</p><p>Men have the highest rate of suicide at a total of 80% of suicides out of both men and women. With negative mental health impacts steming from finanical burdeneds and societal pressure, men are more likely to attempt suicide because of theese factors.</p><ul><li><p>Less of an expectation to pay for everything</p></li><li><p>Allowed to be emotional in healthy ways </p></li><li><p>Not shamed for liking certain things as they are seen as 'not manly'.</p></li></ul><p>List some of the benefits for women</p><p>Women have historically not been treated as equal to men generally regarded as less skilled, smart or strong. This pregidous has come from places like religon, and has continued to be a problem for women breaking the 'traditional' molds of how a woman 'should be'.</p><ul><li><p>less dscrimination in buisness fields. (eg. equal pay, equal considerations for promotions)</p></li><li><p>not being seen as emotional</p></li><li><p>no longer objectified</p></li><li><p>given equal opportunities<br></p></li></ul><p>Describe 5 actions/ strategies that young people can take to closing the ‘Gender Gap’ and work towards gender equality</p><ul><li><p>changing language that excuses or diminishes the actions of others because of gender.</p></li><li><p>closing the gender pay gap</p></li><li><p>treating others equally </p></li><li><p>changing the way we view others and their biology</p></li><li><p>ignoring gender when it comes to things unrelated to that situation.</p></li></ul><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>How does understanding the diversity of sexual attraction help us create a more inclusive environment?</p><ul><li><p>To understand others way of loving creates an inclusive enviroment as we would be less judgy because of long standing predgidous against those who are not 'straight'. </p></li></ul><p><br>Why is it important to respect and acknowledge different sexual attractions?</p><ul><li><p>although someone may not personally find the same person attractive, we can apreciate that others have different taste. applying this to other relationships that are not so highly gareed upon in society would benefit everyong throughly.</p></li></ul><p><br>What are some challenges people might face when expressing their sexual attraction, and how can we help overcome these challenges?</p><ul><li><p>religon, generally in todays religions none heterosexual relationships are 'not allowed'. to help with this problem there could possibly be a speration between what you believe and supporing others. </p></li><li><p>family and friends, If someone does not approve of different sexual attractions not much can be done, but helping the person who is coming out by supporting them through it all, makes a huge difference in one persons life. </p></li></ul>]]></description>
