This article explains that if a military invasion of Japan was launched there would not only be Japanese deaths but American deaths as well, and the death rate of the invasion would have been “more than the casualties of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings.” Also, the dropping of the bomb in Japan would have shocked the Axis Powers, since the bomb was so destructive, causing them to fear and respect the United States. 

-        This source is reliable because an official reporter of the Seattle Times composed it. Also, multiple recognized historians discussed the information on this website, to determine if the Japanese bombings were justified.

The firebombing of Japan almost destroyed Tokyo, but the Japanese were still fighting. The only way to discourage the Japanese was to completely devastate them with an atomic bomb.

-        This source is reliable because it is a government approved site, and there is information from the U.S. Department of the Interior, which is a legitimate government department. The information is true because it can be verified on other reliable historical sources.

-        This article explains how scientist Albert Einstein informed the U.S government of the production of an atomic bomb in Germany. The article explains how the United States started the “top-secret Manhattan Project” which aimed to end the war with Japan by creating an atomic bomb, and to prevent further world conflicts of this size through intimidation.

-        This source is reliable because it has a copyright of 2016 which is up to date. The website is held under Independence Hall Association which also holds USHistory.org, which is a reliable source.

-        This source explains how Truman considered the money and resources used, the ideas of other officials, and the effects of the Manhattan Project, when he decided it would be best to drop to bomb. He dropped the bomb to ensure the end of the war, to not waste the expenses such as “crystallized raw materials and reactor fuel” used on the Manhattan Project to create the “2-billion-dollar” atomic bomb, and to keep a unified government and country to prevent controversy over this decision, from other congress members.

-        This is a reliable source because it has multiple cited reliable sources. The website has an up to date copyright because it was last updated in August of 2015 and it is an educational website.

This is a reliable source because it is from fox news, which is a dependable website. This also has proven facts from historians in the article.

This article talks about how Russia had declared war on Russia after the first bomb was dropped. This article shows that Russia was capable of an invasion, and being able to end the war without the second bomb being dropped. 

This is a reliable source because I have seen the same information in another source, and was posted two years ago. The information is relevant because it shows Russia’s impact in World War II.

     The article is trust worthy, because it comes from a history education website. At the bottom of the page, it said it was founded by the Independence Hall Association, so I researched it and found that it is legitimate and that the website is authentic.
