1.
-Republicans and Radicals joined forces to override the president's thoughts on Civil Rights, and Freedmen's Bureau Acts
-The Civil Rights Act was the first legislation ever made over a president's veto.
-Then Drafted the Fourteenth Amendment, providing a constitutional basis for the Civil Rights Act.
-Which is the Amendment that makes all people born in America, a US citizen. Which entitles them to equal protection, life, liberty, and property.
2.
Was that all humans born in the United States had the right to protection, life, liberty, and property without process of law.
3.
But the amendment did not specifically give black people the rights to vote. But Southerners such as Johnson believed that it was unfair to make Confederate leaders force states to accept an amendment.

The plan which was most similar to the plan we had drafted was the Republican Congress plan. This plan was based around making sure everyone was equal. The 14th amendment was meant to make "all persons born or naturalized in the United States" citizens of the country. It provided protection for life, liberty, and property. Our plan, although worded differently, had the same idea to form a sense of equality, and then protect life, liberty, and property.

Although it does not have dramatic change, it integrates the country back together smoothly. All the other plans would not be received to well from either side and could just cause more retaliation.

Additionally, the compromise of 1877 lead to the end of Reconstruction because it influenced racial discrimination. In 1876 after the election, the Democrats in Congress approached the Republican president with a deal which took the federal troops out of the South. The American Yawp goes on to explain how "only the presence of federal troops in key southern cities prevented Reconstruction’s quick collapse", so when these troops were gone, the Reconstruction was struggling. The compromise also would lead to total democratic control of the South. African Americans at the time believed that this "compromise was seen as a betrayal", because the blacks in the South lost significant protection of their rights, because of the democratic control (Secondary Source #2). “Racial discrimination once again took center stage in American politics” all because of the deal made (Secondary Source #2).

This failure highlights a number of problems governments run into when trying to find solutions. One of the problems that the United States ran into during reconstruction was that they did not have enough money. Following the war there was a lot of damage and there was just simply not enough money to fix everything they could. This problem is still relevant in society today, if you look at a problem such a hunger, which could easy be solved with the distribution of food from other areas. Another problem the United States ran into was that different political parties had different views on solutions. They struggles to pass certain laws because of the disagreements on Congress, so instead they make compromises or nothing gets done. The same things still happen today as people have contradicting views more than ever.
