FIRST: as part of your individual learning, you are expected to do research about a current pressing issue related to masculinities studies in your adopted country (See destination 4).

SECOND: you are part of a team advising the United Nations unit that covers your assigned WHO region. Each member is the “expert” on their country and will share their expertise within their group to prepare a regional understanding of masculinities issues in your assigned region. Prepare a comparative regional analysis examining the commonalities and differences in the issues arising across the region. Discuss and agree on one or several masculinities issues that are relevant across your region.

THIRD: research your regional social issue thoroughly. Follow any references to it in the media. Discuss, among all the members of your group, your overall, collective views about this topic, what it entails, what it means, and what its impacts are on that region. (Note that some countries in the region might not fit the common regional trend, these cases can help you to illustrate the diversity within the region.)

FOURTH: use your assigned Padlet to organise your virtual gallery exhibit. All members of your group must be involved in this process. Make sure everyone participates; this is a requirement of this exercise. Your virtual exhibit introduces visitors to current issues on masculinities studies on a topic of your interest. Please discuss your ideas with me in advance. (See next page for guidelines about Padlet).

FIFTH: Remember that the whole idea of the project is to present a virtual tour to your audience on issues of cultural expressions of your pressing topic. It is required that you connect your presentation to some concepts or ideas discussed in class (e.g. “This image represents ideas of the manosphere because…”; “This clip shows the notion of gender scripts for young men…”; “This image resonates the study among young men in Mozambique by author X because…”). You can also raise some questions or challenges that your gallery raises to the field.

You can present a graphic comparing the situation of your regional issue across your various countries. DO NOT present individual presentations for each country. This is the time to talk about commonalities and differences across your region.

POST 3: Target population(s), you can briefly describe the situation of a particular group(s) that is important for your chosen topic (e.g. young women of colour; undocumented populations; sexual minorities; married women; older people; etc.).

POSTS 4, 5, 6, etc: Use these posts to illustrate the situation of your regional topic (e.g. news, media coverage, clips about a mass media campaign (successful or a failed one), covers of magazines, newspapers, documentaries, advertisement, movies and TV shows, short films or trailers, quotations, etc.). Be creative and innovative!

POST Y: Concluding statement, briefly summarize the key aspects across your region.

Creating an effective e-portfolio involves several key considerations to showcase your skills, experiences, and achievements in a digital format. Here are some guidelines to help you create a compelling e-portfolio:

Define Your Purpose: Determine the purpose of your e-portfolio. Is it for academic purposes, job applications, personal branding, or showcasing your work to potential clients? Clarifying your purpose will guide the content and structure of your portfolio.

Select a Platform: Choose a platform that best suits your needs and technical abilities. Options include website builders like WordPress, portfolio-specific platforms like Behance or Dribbble for creative portfolios, or even LinkedIn for a professional profile.

Design and Layout: Ensure your e-portfolio has a clean, professional design that highlights your work without distracting elements. Use a consistent layout and color scheme throughout the portfolio for cohesion.

Organize Content: Structure your portfolio logically, with sections for your resume/CV, projects, work samples, testimonials, and any other relevant information. Make sure navigation is intuitive, allowing visitors to easily find what they're looking for.

Showcase Your Best Work: Select your strongest and most relevant work samples to include in your portfolio. Provide context for each project, including your role, objectives, challenges, and outcomes. Use a variety of media (text, images, videos) to effectively showcase your work.

Include Personal Branding: Incorporate elements of personal branding, such as a professional headshot, a concise bio or introduction, and consistent branding elements (e.g., logo, color scheme) throughout the portfolio.

Provide Context and Reflection: For each project or experience featured in your portfolio, provide context about the project goals, your role and contributions, challenges faced, and lessons learned. Reflect on your experiences and highlight your skills and strengths.

Keep it Updated: Regularly update your e-portfolio with new projects, experiences, skills, and achievements. Remove outdated or irrelevant content to keep your portfolio fresh and relevant.

Make it Interactive: Depending on the platform you choose, consider adding interactive elements such as clickable prototypes, embedded videos, or interactive graphics to engage visitors and make your portfolio more dynamic.

Optimize for Accessibility and Compatibility: Ensure your e-portfolio is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, by using accessible design practices. Test your portfolio on different devices and browsers to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.

Promote Your Portfolio: Once your e-portfolio is complete, share it with your network, including potential employers, clients, colleagues, and peers. Include a link to your portfolio in your email signature, social media profiles, and resume/CV.
