The majority of kids meet there best friends at school. Friends can help children develop social skills such as how to communicate, cooperate and solve problems. They practice controlling there emotions and responding to the emotions of others. Research shows that children who lack friends can suffer emotionally later in life.

For ages 6-11 the percentage of kids that are overweight was 4% in 1971-1974. That has increased to 18% in 2009-2010. For ages 12-19 it has went up to 18.4%. One of our supply teacher told us a teacher can tell by a students body language if the student is understanding the question or is confused. This is important because if a student is to nervous to discuss the question with the teacher the teacher can go to them.
