My name is Karina Murillo. I am born and raised here in Los Angeles, and have lived here all my life. I am an early childhood educator who has taught preschool for six years, but recently stopped to pursue my graduate degree and care for my own children. It seeks to remove the pervasive effects of hierarchy that can lead to abuse of power and instead replaces it with transparency and openness to change. It makes a leader a facilitator and support person for those who they work with. At it's core it's a humble take on leading with intention to achieve goals together. I aspire to be this sort of leader because it's inspiring to have a leader that is passionate and intentional about making sure every person understands and feels they are essential and appreciated within the work community.
